Magnify

Magnify[expr,r]

represents an object to be displayed with magnification r.

Magnify[expr]

displays with expr magnified by a fixed factor.

Details

  • Magnify magnifies every aspect of the image of expr, including fonts and margins.
  • Magnify can be applied to any element of any expression, including a graphic.
  • Values of r less than 1 will shrink the image.
  • Magnify[expr] is equivalent to Magnify[expr,GoldenRatio].

Basic Examples  (2)

Control magnification of a string:

Wolfram Language code: Table[Magnify["string", m], {m, 0.5, 2, 0.5}]

Control magnification of any expression:

Wolfram Language code: Table[Magnify[Expand[(x + y) ^ m], m / 1.5], {m, 1, 3}]

Scope  (1)

Magnify an expression by a factor equal to the approximate value of GoldenRatio:

Wolfram Language code: Magnify[Expand[(x + y) ^ 3]]

Applications  (1)

Use Magnify to better observe structure in large expressions:

Possible Issues  (1)

Magnify may not scale controls that are drawn by the system:

Magnify will work on controls that do not use the system rendering:
